Industries locate in our area for a reason - because Northeast Oklahomans know business. We know the more flexible we are in the business environment, the more business can respond to its needs in order to remain profitable and increase profitability.
Aerospace, oil & gas, and telecommunications/technology are a major part of Northeast Oklahoma's industry base. According to recent data from the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, Harvard Business School, Tulsa area ranks 8th among metro areas in employment in aerospace engines cluster and 20th in aerospace vehicles and defense cluster. The area ranks 9th among metro areas in employment in the oil & gas cluster and ranks 17th among metro areas in the production technology sector.
Total employment in aerospace related industry in Northeast Oklahoma is 30,000+ jobs, with a $3.3 billion annual economic impact and $960 million payroll.The Aerospace Alliance of Tulsa represents more than 250 aerospace companies from the surrounding region. The purpose of the alliance is to represent an organized network of aerospace firms and organizations to support the growth and expansion of the industry in the region.
